ABOUT US

A Brief History

Black Lion Property Services was established in 2001 by myself, Bridget Karaaslan, and my husband Sakir Karaaslan. Sakir has practiced business in Kalkan since 1989 and is well connected in the town. I graduated in International Business and Modern Languages from Aston University England in 1992 and following a career with ICI, and Wolsey Group Plc in sales, marketing and international product management, moved to Kalkan in 2001.  We have now been joined by Tufan Duymaz, who will be assisting in the day to day running the business. Tufan has excellent English and is a graduate of Economics from Gaziantep University.

Black Lion was formed in recognition of the need for a more professional estate agency, adept to catering for the needs of foreign buyers, in the Kalkan area.  Over the 5 years we have been operating, we have established a reputation for professional service, business ethics, and a comprehensive range of customer services. We are the only estate agency in Kalkan to be accepted as members of the NAEA Overseas (Formerly FOPDAC).

Our Services

Sales

To ensure that our clients will be satisfied both with the quality of the property that they buy, and their buying experience, we are selective about which properties we sell and who we sell for.  We believe in building long term relationships with both our buyers and our sellers to ensure that our clients find the right property, buy at the best price and receive proper follow up from the constructor for new builds.

We understand that purchasing a home abroad is a luxury or investment, not a life essential, and are here to make that experience a safe and pleasurable one. Our former clients are happy to be contacted as references for our service at any time.

Management

Until 2005 Black Lion offered in-house property management and rental services. However by 2005 our management business had grown so large that we divulged this into a separate business "Kalkan Property Services"(KPS). We therefore maintain strong links with KPS to ensure our buyers have a trouble free transition into property ownership and that we can continue to accurately advise our clients about annual running costs, rental occupancy and rental returns.

Design & Construction

Since the winter of 2001 we have worked as project managers with a number of architects and constructors to deliver bespoke properties for our clients.  Now we are licensed constructors and can project manage constructions coordinating project design, building permissions, costing and the construction itself. We have consistently delivered properties to high standards of design and build and offer consultancy services for developers.

Marketing and Public Relations

Finally on behalf of our sellers, we are committed to providing quality and up to date information through our web site, as well as promoting their properties through relevant UK advertising, editorial, and property exhibitions in the UK.  In 2003 and 2005 we filmed with Channel 4's "A Place in the Sun".
